While enjoying brilliant success with the fully faired GT650R and the ST7, the Hyosung portfoilo in India misses a naked bike. And with a view of addressing this deficiency, Hyosung and Garware Motors are planning to launch the naked version of its GT650R- the GT650N.
The removal of the fairing means a major drop in price which will mean a 650 cc bike for under 4.5 lakhs. This move could pose a threat to the only other naked 650 cc, the Ninja 650. The bike will be powered by a 647 cc V-Twin engine which generates max power of 72 bhp and a torque of 61 Nm.
The good news does not stop at that. The competitively priced CBR 250R and the performance based Ninja 250 cc have been battling it out in the quarter liter class. Hyosung with a GT250R, which is also known as the Comet in some markets plans to join the race at the top. Hyosung’s strong point should be competent pricing to make it reachable to a larger range of customers.
