Hyundai I10 is one of the fast moving small car in India. This Korean small car is now powered by a electric motor.Hyundai is all set to start the mass production of I10 Electric within few months. The initial production will start in South Korea then other markets will witness the Hyundai I10 Electric retreat.
The initial details available about Hyundai Electric I10 is quiet impressive. The curb weight of this small car is kept below 1000kgs this improves the range per recharge figure considerably.Once the battery is fully charged I10 Electric will travel 160kms before the batteries get exhausted.Other interesting factors are the I10 battery bank can be recharged by a domestic socket(220V) within five hours and by a 413V supply the battery will get charged 85% within 15 minutes. That’s is a real achievement by Hyundai engineers.
The electric I10 is powered by 49Kw DC motor and will take only 15seconds to reach 100km/hour from standstill. The exterior is same as that of petrol version except the colour scheme. The body paint job and sticker work has been executed well. The roof panel is now comes in black colour, in petrol I10 variants the roof and body comes with same shade.
The commercial launch of Hyundai I10 Electric will happen by 2010.We think Hyundai can meet the targets as they are already through with half of their job.Because they are using a well proven mechanical set-up for this electric car. That could be the reason for Hyundai to select I10 for a heart transplantation.
So what about India, the heaven for small car. Will we receive this Electric Hyundai I10 in India? We know our infrastructure to support a electric cars is zero so we may have to wait years together.Let us wait nothing else will work!.For further updates stay tuned to us! by choosing any of this methods
