Hyundai Elantra is definitely a under performer in India.We really not aware why Elentra is facing such issues in our market.Hyundai is putting their best efforts to revamp the sales of this model now.As part of Hyundai’s ‘save Elantra’ programme, last week they launched Hyundai Elantra LPI HEV in Korea.
Hyundai Elantra LPI HEV is a hybrid version in which Liquefied Petroleum Gas(LPG) is the primary fuel, and a 20HP electric motor has been incorporated as additional power source.Hyundai claims Elantra LPI HEV is capable to attain 100km/hr within 12 seconds from stand still.The primary power house is a LPG injected 1.6ltr 4 cylinder engine that can deliver 114HP at peak.
Hyundai Elantra LPI HEV’s attraction could be the mileage figures, approx 18km/litre is in range of a fuel efficient small car.The drive train is being adopted from Kia Forte Hybrid.Also this variant Elantra is using start-stop technology which will definitely improve the fuel economy of the car.
Hyundai is bringing Elantra LPI with all standard accessories and packages available with Hyundai’s higher end variants.Eco-Guide and Eco-Drive have been provided in car to ensure optimum fuel and driving efficiency.The Eco-Guide will give real time driving parameters thus the y of driver can be cautious,while Eco-Drive will give tips for improving the efficiency of the engines.
Hyundai Elantra is a vanishing species in Indian roads, will Hyundai bring this variant to India to revive the condition.

Hi, interesting topic – I have just bought an electric bike that I use to get to work everyday. I Just plug in at work to recharge it and then cycle home.
Absolutely love the bike, it was cheap and simple to use. I got it from http://www.elecbikeco.com they seemed good but I am sure there are many other companies out there too.
