Hyundai i10 is getting more spicier in Malaysia. Hyundai launched the latest engine variant 1.25ltr Kappa there. The 1.25ltr Kappa engine is technically more advanced than current engine line up of Hyundai i10. This Euro IV compliant engine can develop 80PS power and 112Nm torque at peak. As most of you know, Hyundai i10 is already available with two other engines. 1.1 ltr (iRDI) and 1.2ltr (Kappa) versions, both are available in our market.
The new engine of Hyundai i10 is coupled with a four speed auto box. Hyundai has made every attempt to improve the fuel efficiency and smoothness of thi engine. The Kappa engines are twin cam, 16 valve, with distribution less ignition and employed many light weight engine components, to achieve better fuel economy and engine performance.
Hyundai i10 recently adjudged as the most fuel efficient small car in India. But past is past, Hyundai i10 now feeling the heat of changes in the small car market dynamics. Hyundai admitted that Ford Figo has been hit them hard, and they are forced to reopen the file of Hyundai i10 Diesel engine which was eating dust. To tackle the invasion of competition, will Hyundai bring this improved engine to Indian market too? We are not sure about this at this moment, so stay tuned for more upcoming updates.
