Hyundai preferred brand for UK Police dept

Hyundai seems to be the preferred choice for the British police department if their statistics are anything to go by. Each year, the London Metropolitan Police acquires over 2,000 cars and a further 7,800 more for work outside the city. Hyundais cars have become so popular that it has been awarded ‘preferred supplier’ status by the National Association of Police Fleet Managers. What it means is that, UK’s police forces can buy Hyundai’s new vehicles as well. That’s a drastic change for a country which used Morris Minors and Ford Anglias in the 1960s, Ford Consuls and Rover 3500s in the 1970s, Hondas rebadged as Rovers in 1980s and Mitsubishis in the 1990s.

Hyundai say that the most popular vehicles are expected to be the i20, i30, ix35, Santa Fe and iLoad van. For a start, here you can see Hyundai’s latest crossover, the iX35 in police livery. Don’t forget 100 Accent police cars that Hyundai gave to the Chennai Police!
