Japanese automakers are in real trouble now. Following the recall of Toyota, Suzuki, Honda, now Nissan will also recall 76,415 vehicles across its 10 models currently sold in Japan due to a possible defect that may cause the engine failure. The news emerged from the files in the Transport Ministry. A Nissan spokesman said it would also recall 2,300 cars for the same problem overseas.
Following the problem of recalling A-stars/Altos worldwide, Suzuki will recall a massive 432,366 units of its two minicars in Japan while Daihatsu will recall 60,774 units over its four minicars.
While no incidents of loss or mishap has been observed in Nissan and Daihatsu’s models, two incidents of fire have been reported in Suzuki’s case. The minicars here refer the Kei-cars that are sold in Japan with length, width and engine size restrictions. They come with 660cc engines.
