Reigning world champion Jenson Button set the fastest time on the final day of the Jerez test in Spain. The weather was nice and dry. 11 drivers took part in the test on the final day of which 8 of them completed over 100 laps. Button clocked 1:18.871 followed by Kubica in the Renault and Sauber’s Kobayashi.
Lotus F1 completed 141 laps in the hands of Jarno Trulli, the maximum running by any team but were more than 4.5 sec off the pace of Button. Virgin too were slow and lagged behind by 3.562 sec although Timo Glock ran just 28 laps before the car stopped due to hydraulic problems.
