All the enthusiasts will be going without any pure driving machine in the future. Not only will there be lots of electric cars and hybrids, recent announcements that BMW will make its 1-Series Front Wheel Drive and Ferrari announcing that they will ditch manuals in favour of dual clutch automatics have left the enthusiasts in a fix. To add insult to injury, Lamborghini have announced that their future cars will be lighter with more of carbon fibre (great), will not be turbocharged/supercharged (wow) and will lose manual transmissions (sad).
Lamborghini would like to remain pure offering only naturally aspirated engines unlike ther est of the world that ig oing the turbo way. To achieve better efficiency figures, Lambos of the future would sport stop/start and cylinder deactivation as well as E-85 capable V10s. Shifting to latest generation automated gearboxes will ensure that fuel efficiency increases compared to manuals. So, the times really are changing and we request all the enthusiasts to get the purest supercars now rather than whine later on.
