Mahindra May Bid For LDV,U.K Based Van Maker

LDV,the Birmingham-based van maker is following the steps of JLR.After government lamented to support financially, now LDV is looking for possible partners/buyers.Interestinlgy India’s Mahindra and Mahindra is in prospective buyers list.LDV is currently owned by GAZ Group,promoted by Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska.The Times reported that UK government contacted M&M, the market leader in multi-utility vehicles in India, and another company based in the Far East were the during the weekend to find out ”their commitment to LDV.”But Mahindra has not yet confirmed the news officially.

Mahindra officials earlier said that Mahindra and Mahindra is ready for any possible tie ups and partnerships to mahindra-may-bid-for-ldvmanufacture vehicles in different segments, including small cars.Acquiring LDV at a cost effective price will definitely improve Mahindra’s capabilities as a utility vehicle manufacturer.Also LDV has got proven skills in battle front provenvehicle manufacturing,again Mahindra’s new arena.

LDV has already halted produtions since last December.Goverment is not willing to pay loan for survival.So sell off could be the only option left with LDV.So we may see LDV too turning Indian after JLR
