In response to government’s steps to rejuvenate Indian automobile industry,major automobile makers announced the price cuts across all product categories.Saturday government announced reduction of central value added tax on all products except petroleum products.
Mahindra and Mahindra confirmed the benefit will be passed over to customer, thus all products will be getting cheaper by 4% soon.To add cream on cake,Dr.Pawan Goenka said to CNBC-TV18 that they are exploring possibilities to add more benefits in high-end models.So soon Scorpios may get cheaper soon.This cenvat reduction is a good sign for Mahindra as they are all set to launch the big attraction,Mahindra Xylo.Also recently Toyota announced price hike for Innova,to whom Mahindra Xylo may compete.
Commercial and passenger vehicle manufacturer Tata also said the customer will enjoy the reduction in cenvat.The detailed announcement will be followed soon.Also R.C Bhargava,Chairman, Maruti-Suzuki Ltd said there will be a reduction in car prices by 4%.
The cenvet reduction is for all products, so no doubt two wheeler manufacturer also will follow the suit,Bajaj already announced the price reductions on their products.
So it is time to cheer for all prospective car buyers,goverment is trying to lift the declining automobile industry.How will it help them ? only time can say.
