
Manor GP, one of the four new entrants into F1 next season will be officially called Virgin racing after Manor boss John Booth and Virgin chief Richard Branson announced the sponsorship deal on Tuesday. The new name was released in FIA’s list for the 2010 season.
Virgin joins a long list of newcomers in 2010 which also sees the comeback of Lotus F1 and debuts of Campos Meta 1 and US F1 Team to take the final tally to 12 teams or 24 cars. Virgin have signed German Timo Glock to lead their team attack while British based Wirth Racing will design the cars. Sauber, back after BMW sold the team back to Peter Sauber are expected to be granted a place after the World Motor Sport council to be held on December 11 in Monaco under the new chief jean Todt. 2010 will also see a host of new faces make it to F1 due to the availability of many new seats.
