Maruti Eeco, the reincarnation of Maruti Versa is expected to see day light during New Delhi Auto Expo. There are strong rumours suggesting that New Maruti Versa could be Suzuki’s APV already present in different Asian markets. Much details are not available now. But Eeco could be Maruti Suzuki’s attempt to enter our Multi Utility Vehicle(MUV) segment, which is now ruled by Mahindra Xylo, Toyota Innova, Chevrolet Tavera and Tata Sumo.
Though some media reports say it could be another family car from Maruti, we firmly believe that Maruti is planning tap taxi segment with their upcoming Eeco. Our sources say it will be a no frill people mover intended to serve the duty which Maruti Omni was doing. Both passenger and cargo version will be launched. The power house could be a 1.2ltr BS-IV compliant engine specifically developed for Indian geographical conditions. The fairly stringent emission norms made untimely retirement of Maruti Omni.
The pricing could be noticeable, Maruti Eeco is believed to be priced below Rs.4lacs.The new car represents the growing expertise of our engineers to conceive, design and produce vehicles here. This is also in line with parent Suzuki Corp’s vision of turning India into a global hub for small car research and development” said IV Rao Maruti Suzuki managing executive officer (engineering)”.
We will update you about further development journey of Maruti Suzuki Eeco. So be with us.
Now Maruti Eeco is Launched at Rs.2.6lacs, Cheaper than we expected read the story here.
