Maruti Suzuki A-Star is slowly catching the momentum in Indian market. After the initial drag in sales volumes,A-Star finally started returning some good numbers recently.Suzuki is selling this global small car in other world markets as well in the name of Alto. Now some of such exported A-Star cars found faulty in Netherlands. There Suzuki is planning to recall some of the A-Star due to a defect in fuel system.
The problem description as follows,Maruti Suzuki recently noticed that in completely filled A-Star/Alto fuel tanks, fuel is leaking from the top. This problem occurs only in A-Star with fully filled fuel tanks. In worst case this fault can lead to fire and could prove disastrous. So Suzuki is planning repair the sealing between fuel tank and fuel pump. Now Suzuki advices all Alto owners to maintain fuel tank not completely filled.
This year Suzuki Netherlands sold 5772 units of A-Star,out of which some units are found faulty. This is the first case of Suzuki Alto recall. Now what about A-Stars plying on other roads including our home country?Else Suzuki is pretty sure that in India we will keep the fuel tank half full by default so the problem will never occur?(just kidding). So if you are a A-Star owner and would like to know any such announcements please be subscribed. We will update you soon.
