India built Suzuki Alto( Maruti Suzuki A-Star in India) returns unbelievable mileage in Australia.The highest mileage of this gasoline engine powered car recorded was 49.4km/ltr.This achievement was recorded in “The Global Green Challenge” where Alto easily outdone many diesel cars like MINI Cooper D and Ford Fiesta ECOnetic.
Even company with back up of ARAI test data claims 19.6km/ltr in Indian roads under standard test conditions.Even we have heard one two cases in which A-Star returned mileage above 30km/ltr.But this is much above of all previous records.The 1000CC KB-series engine took Suzuki Alto to 3040kms with only 123ltr of gasoline.In addition to this outstanding fuel efficiency figures Alto also proved it is less polluting compared to other vehicles in it’s class.

Though the above result may be obtained by driving A-Star in controlled conditions.We believe our Maruti A-Star can also return fuel average better than it’s current level of under 20 km/ltr by exercising some good driving habits.What is your opinion?

i just love the eagle eye shaped head lights of the car,the front grille,the tail lights,the interior..on the whole A-star is an excellent package..
Hi guys, its a good time for automatic car lovers. A Star is going to come with automatic transmission in july 2010. I was looking for an affordable, low running cost automatic car, and i feel a Star automatic will fit my bill.. thanks maruti,.. please bring the car soon.. i want to buy.
