maruti to disclose fuel efficiency from new yearAfter initial resistance to governments proposal to make the fuel efficiency disclosure mandatory, now car makers started bowing down to the pressure.Today Maruti Suzuki announced they will be disclosing the fuel efficiency of their cars at dealer end.

Earlier government had directed all car manufacturers  to  disclose the fuel efficiency in terms of star rating which endorsed by a certifying authority by April-2009.Also following certifying authorities were named for same,Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Vehicle Research and Development Establishment (VRDE) and International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT).
