Mercedes Benz adds E-Class convertible to their soft roof offering list. The ongoing Detroit Auto Show became the venue for this surprise launch. Mercedes Benz has been adopted Aircap technology for making one of their best selling model E-Class in cabriolet form. Aircap technology will allow the driver to raise the roof above windshield with just a push button actuation.
With the launch of E-Class Convertible, Mercedes Benz will be discontinuing CLK convertible. Along with Aircap technology MB is using Airscarf technology with which, the driver can enjoy neck level heating while enjoying the pleasure trip. The four seater Mercedes E-Class Convertible will not leave you and your family unsafe, MB has deployed a seven member air bag cache to protect all inmates. All other safety features have been continued in E-Class cabriolet version.
UK will be the first market to receive Mercedes Benz E-Class soft roof version, then other European markets will witness the launch. MB has been priced E-Class Convertible marginally below outgoing CLK convertible. “We enter this new decade like one of my favourite comic book characters – the Hulk,” said M-B chief exec Dieter Zetsche.
Mercedes Benz India, recently lost their crown in luxury segment to their arch rival BMW. Will Mercedes Benz will bring E-Class Cabrio to India? Most unlikely, still we can wait and see..
