The E-class range has now expanded to seven different variants including the coupe and cabriolet. The current E-class sedan is priced between Rs 42 to 50 lakhs while the coupe is priced at Rs 55 lakhs. The E-class coupe and cabriolet are imported as CBU (Completely Built Units) from Germany. Like the E350 sedan and E-class coupe, the cabriolet comes with a 3.5L V6 engine that produces 272bhp @ 6000rpm and 355Nm of torque between 2400-5000 rpm and is mated to Mercedes’ 7G-Tronic gearbox. Ride and handling is governed by a Direct Control system with Selective damping where the dynamic behaviour largely depends on the way in which the car is driven. Since this is Mercedes, expect supple ride for the most part.

The E cabriolet has direct competition from the Z4 hardtop convertible which is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0L straight six producing 305bhp. However, the E-cabriolet is meant for relaxed cruising and is not as sharp as the Z4. To keep your hairstyle in place, Mercedes has introduced a system called AIRCAP that raises wind deflectors. This reduces turbulence for all four passengers within the cabin when the roof is down.

Mercedes Benz India Managing Director Wilfried Aulbur said

“With its launch, the versatility of the E-Class range is further reinforced. The E-Class now offers the Cabriolet in addition to the already present E-Class Saloon and the E- Class Coupe,”

Press Release

Mercedes-Benz India introduces the seventh offering within its E-Class range with debut of the New E-Class Cabriolet in India

• A four seater, soft top convertible with a 3.5 litre engine churns an output of 272hp (@6000 rpm) and 355 Nm (@ 2400 – 5000 rpm) of torque

• New innovative introductions with AIRCAP ®, introduced for the first time in India

This E-Class is complete with a retractable soft top roof and offers comfortable seating for four people.
It combines comfort, elegance and year-round usability with the premiere feature of the AIRCAP®. AIRCAP® is an automatic wind deflector that can be deployed at the touch of a button to significantly reduce turbulence in the vehicle’s interior. It also dispenses with the assembly required for conventional wind deflectors and leaves the side profile of the Cabriolet undisturbed.

The production standard sound-dampening soft top comes with high-quality insulation. Thus, the closed E-Class Cabriolet offers one of the quietest interiors in the segment of four-seater premium soft-top cabriolets. The top can be open or closed at the touch of a button in only 20 seconds – even while driving at speeds of up to 40 km/h. Like all E-Class models, the Cabriolet also offers an outstanding level of safety with standard equipment that include the ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection system, PRE-SAFE® predictive occupant protection, the intelligent light system among others. The E-Class E 350 Cabriolet sports a 3.5 litre engine delivering an output of 272 hp and a torque of 355 Nm.

The E-Class Cabriolet is priced at INR 64.5 lakhs as per ex-showroom Delhi pricing.
