Mini E Debuts At LA Auto Show 2009

As promised BMW launched Mini E,the electric version of it’s two seater Mini car in Los Angele’s Auto Show 2009.Mini E is not mini interms of power it is powered by 150Kw electric motor with high performance rechargeable lithium-iron batteries.BMW promises this battery is capable enough to cover a 240Km with a top speed of 150Km/Hr.
By launching Mini E BMW becomes the first automobile manufacturer supplies 500 full electric vehicles for its select customer in New York,California and New Jersey.Mini E employs a single stage drive at front which ensures noiseless journey.
The battery of Mini E is sharing the battery with General Motor’s Volt.The battery requires a four hour recharging session once it get drains.BMW officials claimed they have already received over 1000 bookings on their website. Unfortunately BMW plans only 500 units this year,so another 500 Mini E lovers have to wait till next batch.
