The long wait for Mitsubishi’s mighty machine came to a sudden end. After keeping Mitsubishi Evo lovers waiting for long two years finally the day came. But with good news we have a shocking news too. Mitsubishi Motors has been attached a hefty price tag to Evo–X. Mitsubishi Evo-X will be available at INR 49.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). As we reported earlier Evo-X is landing in India through Completely Built Unit (CBU) that giving justification for this exorbitant price.
In India Mitsubishi launched FQ300 model powered by turbocharged 2.0 ltr engine which can generate 280 hp maximum power at 6500 rpm. The 0-100 km mark will come in less than 7 seconds. Mitsubishi Evo X will have a top speed of 180 km/hr. The powerful engine is coupled with 6-speed TC-SST transmission. The TC-SST transmission line is two three-speed gearboxes sets mounted on the same output shaft with two clutches. At any point of time one clutch will engage the gear in use and the other one will pre-select the next gear required.
The launch of Mitsubishi Evo X created unprecedented enthusiasm among our readers. This was one of our most discussed topic in our past. But we think those who were waiting to get price details are now struggling to accept the fact. In our opinion Evo X is price almost a million above market anticipated price. Mitsubishi is seriously looking at their India business, so if Evo X volumes picks up, they may consider bringing Evo X in CKD form. If that happens Mitsubishi Evo X will become affordable to many power loving drivers. We know it is still a distant dream!
