While Honda is tightlipped about the upcoming 2012 CR-V, a Chinese website managed to publish some of the undisguised images of the vehicle. The all new Honda CR-V will be continuing with it’s horizontal grille with a modified headlight design. There are no major changes in the body design except a slightly lowered roof line. 2012 CR-V will be longer than current CR-V by some centi meters. Another interesting design aspect could be the design of tail lamps which very similar to Volvo XC 60 crossover. Though we expected 2012 Honda CR-V will have a third bench to accommodate seven people, the last spy images proved that a seven seater CR-V will not be a reality any time soon.
The dashboard looks pretty but there is not much goodies except standard features. Under the hood, Honda will continue with same engine and a slightly improved drive train to improve the fuel efficiency. There are unconfirmed reports saying that Honda will unveil 2012 CR-V by September. In the US the new Honda CR-V will hit dealerships by end of 2011 or early 2012.
Honda Siel Cars India has already ruled out new CR-V’s India debut during 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo. But we think Honda will seriously consider new CR-V’s Indian variant and will hit our market by end of 2012.
Stay tuned for updates on new Honda CR-V
