If latest reports are to be believed, Hyundai India is all set to launch their latest mid-size sedan offering Verna on 11th of next month. The editor of Autocar India, Hormazd Sorabjee tweeted about this latest development. New Hyundai Verna has been featured on Wheelosphere on various occassions. Hyundai India is in the process of streamlining pre-launch activities, the teaser site is already up. Also Hyundai’s dealers have started accepting bookings of New Verna.
New Hyundai Verna will have four engine variants with two sets of petrol and diesel engines. There will be both manual and auto transmissions on offer. The fate of current variant of Hyundai Verna is not known. Hyundai may pull the curtain of this so called Verna Transform.
Of late our mid-size sedan segment is becoming a very active space. Already we have recently dethroned Honda City, the current topper VW Vento, the SX4 from Maruti Suzuki in this space. In addition to New Hyundai Verna, Nissan Almera and Ford Fiesta are just waiting to launch. Ford India has recently previewed new Ford Fiesta in New Delhi and official launch is scheduled for July 2011. With the launch of New Hyundai Verna, we expect to witness more bloodbath in this segment. New Hyundai Verna price may fall between Rs. 7-9 lakhs.
