Mitsubishi releases teaser image of an all new SUV

Mitsubishi Motors released a teaser image of an all new SUV ahead of 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The new car  is strikingly similar to the PX-MiEV concept we saw at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show. The Mitsubishi PX-MiEV concept debuted in Tokyo is expected to replace current Outlander/Montero Crossover. While Mitsubishi chose to remain tightlipped about the identity of the car, the official press release said it is a “strategic and innovative premium vehicle”.

More importantly, Mitsubishi said the vehicle features company’s  new design language. That means all new vehicles from Mitsubishi will features similar styling characteristics. According to company the styling language is still in the development stage and may get polished in the future.

The car featured in the teaser image sports an attractive front fascia. The two tier horizontal grille which houses Mitsubishi logo has been nicely designed and integrated to the headlights and bumper. The bumper has been redesigned and the lines are more  prominent now.

The vehicle will hit mass production line by end of this year.

With the teaser image, Mitsubishi presented a new business plan called “Jump 2013″. The new business plan says company will focus on green and global  vehicles in the future. That means company may axe some products like Galant, Eclipse and Endeavor from it’s line up while extending their global vehicle models.

Back in India, Mitsubishi and their partner Hindustan Motors are struggling to prove their mettle. The join venture has not made any significant launch for the last two-three years. Their last major launch was Evo X but a hefty Rs.50+ lakh price tag ensured it’s enthusiasts staying away from showrooms. Now we are waiting to see Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in India. We expect Pajero Sport India launch by next month. Do you think Mitsubishi and Hindustan Motors will impress us this time.? Let time answers. Stay with us for more updates.
