The all new Swift bookings have been creating new milestones. On 17th August, 2011 Suzuki Swift debuted in India with over 50,000 pre-launch bookings. According to latest media reports, New Suzuki Swift bookings have crossed 100,000 mark. But the bad news is Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar plant is still struggling with labour problems. This is the mother plant for 2011 Swift and it’s daily output is well below the target. Maruti Suzuki has now started producing Swift in company’s Gurgaon facility. On Saturday Maruti Suzuki managed to roll out 700 units (combined output) of new Swift.
“At this level of daily production, the company can now produce over 17,500 units of Swift in a month. Focused efforts to augment manpower strength at the Manesar plants and starting the production of the Swift model at the Gurgaon plant have helped the company reach this level of monthly production for the model,’’ said Maruti Suzuki in a release.
Maruti Suzuki’s problem is unique, company’s other products like Estilo, Ritz have few takers and the cars in demand are hit with severe supply constraints. But to address this issue company has started offering tempting discounts for models like Estilo and Ritz.
For the last two months Maruti Suzuki saw dip in the sales. We expect a negative growth in current month sales as well. Will Maruti’s attempts will make a much needed change in the trend?.
Also will Maruti Suzuki succeed in convincing their prospective customers to wait for than six months to acquire their dream ride..? Let us wait and see the outcomes.
