New Suzuki Swift wins two awards in Scotland

new Suzuki Swift

New Suzuki Swift just debuted in the UK recently. The 2010 Swift has started making it’s presence in award events by winning two crowns in Scotland. The new Swift was awarded  in “Best Small Car” and “Safety” categories. The award is instituted by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW). The judging panel  elected Suzuki Swift as winner in two above said categories, which brought Suzuki’s first award in this twelve year old history of this award.

Buyers now demand from small cars the level of comfort, quality, refinement and safety once only found in executive cars. The Suzuki Swift achieves this with a sense of style and a careful eye on pricing. As a result it marks the first ever SCOTY award for Suzuki and shows how far the brand has come since our inaugural awards in 1998,” said John Murdoch, chief  of the ASMW

2010 Suzuki Swift is armed with full fledge occupants safety system. The second award is a recognition to Suzuki’s efforts toward this direction. The new Swift comes seven airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and scored a Five star NCAP rating.

Turn back the clock 20 years or so and safety features like multiple airbags and ABS were reserved exclusively for top-end vehicles with a premium price tag. Today the motoring public expects them on even the most affordable products and manufacturers strive to achieve five-star Euro NCAP recognition. The Suzuki Swift sets new standards in the hunt for safer motoring and as a result is the inaugural winner of our Safety accolade,” Mr.Murdoch added.

We expect new Maruti Suzuki Swift launch in India by Dec 2010. Already Swift is ruling a waiting period of more than three months and the situation may continue like this once this  bigger, lighter, cleaner and more efficient 2010 Swift land in India.
