Innova has been a strong contender in its segment and for a car its age, it deserves a makeover. Apparently that is exactly what heads at Toyota feel too. And this can be seen in the spy image seen below. The Innova has been facelifted in Indonesia in July but this change hasn’t transcended to the Innovas in India. But that wont be the case for too long.
As the image suggests the new Innova will feature a new set of rear lamps that are split in three way structure in contrast to the two way setup on its current model. The rear end has also been under the surgeon’s knife and it does not stop at that. The new Innova will sport a sharper pair of headlamps and the chrome grille will be reworked to a more stylish end and a spanking new bumper. Under the hood it will carry the same 2.5 liter diesel mated to 5 speed manual gearbox.
While all this may sound exciting, don’t get out your cheque books just yet. The floods in Thailand may be a major constraint for the launch of this new Innova. In fact the floods have resulted in shortage of Toyota’s parts in USA. To add to this the XUV 500 is making records in the sales books and we doubt it if the Innova may dent Mahindra’s market share.
