The Ford Endeavour is a very renown vehicle in India, especially for its massive stance that frightens many an auto-rickshaw driver. It also forms one of Ford’s core models in India selling close to 200 units every month. Ford has recently lost out on sales to Toyota’s Fortuner and will be looking to win back the lost glory with the next-generation Endeavour (Everest to the rest of the world). Fans of the Endeavour will recall that the Endy is actually based on Ford’s Ranger pick-up truck, newest version of which we bring to you. The next-generation model was caught undergoing hot weather testing. Will the new Endy keep up to the reputation that it has garnered?

Yes. It doesn’t disappoint. The new Endy carries forward the high stance of the current model. Based on Ford’s new T6 platform, the new model is wider, longer and bigger than the current model and will go on sale globally. The chunkier wheel arches and muscular stance stand testimony to this. It will carry forward the tradition of being based on a ladder frame chassis, thereby satisfying enthusiasts. Ford currently offers the Endy with two engine options – A 2.5L TDCi and a 3.0L TDCi. The new model will see 2.2L TDCi and 3.0L TDCi Duratorq engines mated to either 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions. Interiors and exteriors are expected to carry forward Ford’s new design language found on the Fiesta and Focus.
