Renderings of the next-gen Beetle are here. VW hinted that they might reduce its focus on retro styling and more resources will be concentrated on making it better dynamically, in short the new one will be more of an enthusiast’s car. Although no renderings or sketches have been released yet, the Ragster concept does show VW’s intentions. The Bug shape will remain while more modern touches are expected.
This rendering is from artist David Cardoso who has gone forward and rendered what the next-gen Beetle might look like. The classic styling remains although there are several nice touches like the pronounced wheel arches and a tipped forward stance. The front looks quirky while the black hatch door is a nice touch and we hope VW does the same with the real Beetle as well. With VW’s recent foray into the Electric Vehicle space, an Electric Beetle would not be a bad idea considering the fact that the Mini is available in an Electric version. The Beetle has received great response (170 bookings!) in India even though it is priced well above Rs 20 lakhs. So, VW has a readymade market in India so expect the next-gen Beetle in India once it is launched internationally.
