Nissan Motor Company recently released a teaser image of their upcoming sedan based on their V (Versatile) platform. Woodycarsite has posted claiming, this is the image of upcoming low cost sedan (code name :- L02B) from Nissan. The authenticity of the image is yet to be verified. The available image suggests that the upcoming cost effective sedan will be a decent looking entry level sedan. The front grille and bumper combination is simple but attractive. The details about powerhouse options are yet to be known.
Though Nissan is insisting that it’s an all new sedan, we believe it will be based on Nissan Micra hatch. But the three box Micra may not be sharing body panels with it’s hatchback sibling. Following recent trend of launching global vehicles, Nissan will replace their existing models like, Versa and Tiida in many markets with this ‘all new sedan’.
Renault-Nissan alliance has a long list of product launches in coming years for lucrative Indian market. Renault’s one of the most successful sedan brand Logan was purchased by their former Indian partner Mahindra. That means Renault-Nissan partnership has to develop a sedan by keeping a tab on price tag. Considering this situation, above shown image could be the replacement for Renault Logan for Indian market and new Versa and Tiida for other markets. As we reported earlier, the Nissan Micra sedan could be christened as Nissan Sunny. If that is the case, Mahindra Logan, Suzuki Swift Dzire, Tata Manza and Hyundai Accent will have to realign themselves to stay afloat. Lets wait for the blood bath in Sedan segment.
The launch of new Sedan from Nissan is expected by end of next year, so let us wait and watch.
