Nissan Motor Company has released details of the new V-platform based sedan (not Micra sedan; see below) that will debut at the upcoming Guangzhou Motor Show in December. The new sedan (codename : L02B) will make it to markets like the USA and Canada where it will replace the Versa as Nissan’s entry level model. The Versa is sold in several other markets as the Tiida/Latio and the new sedan will replace all these vehicles. The new sedan unlike competitors like the Manza, Dzire Vento and upcoming Etios will not share any outer panel with the hatchback. From the sketches it is evident that this is indeed an all new vehicle. We have attached Nissan’s statement below for your information.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO EDITORS:
NISSAN’S “NEW GLOBAL SEDAN” IS NOT A MICRA SEDAN. IT IS A COMPLETELY NEW LOOK SEDAN BASED ON NISSAN’S VERSATILE ‘V’ PLATFORM.

The new Sedan (it could be called Sunny) looks nothing like the Micra. It sports long swept-back headlamps and Nissan’s trademark trapezoid radiator grille. Special details include a low slung coupe-like roofline and the body crease that runs the entire length from front to rear bumper. Nothing much can be said as sketches are always flamboyant. Remember the Micra’s? The new sedan will be cost effective and come loaded with all the features that are also found on the Micra. Engine options include a 1.5 petrol and diesel outputting 1around 100 and 70bhp respectively. A 1.2L is also speculated to be available on lower variants while the 1.5L diesel is the same engine that does duty in the Logan. 70bhp will not suffice and we hope Nissan boost it up to 85bhp.
Indian debut is likely in the second half of 2010 only. For more details, click on the links above.
