Nissan Murano Cross Cabriolet, the first all wheel drive crossover convertible in automobile history debuted in the floors of 2010 LA Auto Show. Nissan Murano Cross Cabriolet is propelled by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that can give maximum power output of 265 hp and 248 N-m torque at peak. The engine is coupled with an Xtronic CVT gearbox. Murano Cross Cabriolet is basically a two door soft top version of their four door crossover Murano.
The soft top is operated hydraulically with automatic latch and unlatch mechanism. Nissan has been fitted a pair of 370Z inspired HID headlamps and LED lit taillights. “This new Murano CrossCabriolet adds an unexpected…element, the ability to make everyday activities more exciting with open air driving,” said Al Castignetti, who is VP and GM of Nissan North American operations.
Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet will be initially launched in the US by next year. It would be interesting to watch how market will react to this unusual breed. One thing we are not sure about is what was the need of such a cabriolet for Nissan. Are they really anticipating a positive market response? How about their similar products like Juke and Cube, aren’t they yielding good results? Let time answer our queries…
