This is Nissan’s hoarding marketing its upcoming Micra supermini in Thailand. The car looks striking in this particular ad with features like chrome-lined and slatted radiator grille and black coloured door sashes. Moreover, the front bumper design is modified and now sport spoilers while side-skirts complement the sill area. Astonishingly, the car on the billboard looks hot and if the same kits are offered in India, then expect decent number of buyers opting for them (provided the styling kits are not sold at a premium). Our sources inform us that there are several such billboards sporting the Micra with ‘Coming Soon’ written in Thai.
The image also shows a local star campaigning for the Micra. So who will take over that job in India? We are not sure if Narain fits the bill. Some famous cricketer/Bollywood celebrity could do wonders. Read more about the Micra here.
According to us, Volkswagen’s ads for its Polo in famous newspapers is the best attempt in India so far. They campaigned with full page ads in Times of India and other leading dailies in December and this week, they had cut-outs in every page of TOI with features of the Polo accompanying them. This is the best campaign so far. Moreover, they have put up huge billboards featuring the Beetle and Polo.
