New Delhi,our capital planning to celebrate New Year.On 01-January-2009 will be observed as ‘No-Horn/Honk’ day at New Delhi.Sounds interesting? ‘The Earth Savers Foundation’ is the initiator behind this unique way of celebration and educating the mass about the possible calamities that society suffers from noise pollution.
The New Year celebration doesn’t stop by observing a ‘No-Honk’ day,they are planning to educate general public,cabbies,bus drivers about the health hazards due to honking.There are sufficient proofs for adverse effect of honking to babies and pregnant women.Authorities state that the sound level of New Delhi roads are well above the standard (60db),so definitely this is the high time to address this no-sense honking.
