Mahindra & Mahindra, which took over the JV Mahindra-Renault Private limited for producing the Logan has announced that they are working on a sub-4 metre Logan and that it would be ready within 18 months. We speculated long time back and showed you a prototype of a shortened Logan. Maybe M&M will go ahead with that plan after all. It does make sense as the shortened Logan will attract lower taxes and crucially a lower price meaning it will compete with the Indigo CS and many hatchbacks. Moreover, the shortened Logan will come with a new face, tail and refreshed interiors. This should make the Logan an unbeatable proposition.
Bear in mind that come December and the famed Logan will lose the Renault Diamond for a Mahindra logo.
Mr Rajesh Jejurikar, chief executive (automotive division) at M&M, said
“We plan to launch a restyled Logan within the next 18 months.“
