Spied:- Peugeot 207 and 508 in India

Peugeot-Citroen alliance is in the process of finalizing the location for setting up their shop. As of now  Tamilnadu and Gujarat are being considered by Peugeot. While company is selecting the location, product planning team is busy selecting suitable products for Indian subcontinent. Thanks to Hammer and Anvil of Team-BHP, we are able to show you some first pictures of  Peugeot cars testing on our roads.

Peugeot 207

According to the person who posted the images, there were three cars being tested  in Mumbai-Pune Express highway. A hatchback, a station wagon and a sedan. The hatchback is Peugeot 207, is present in European markets from September 2007. Peugeot 207 is available in three body styles, Hatchback, Estate and Cabriolet. In our market we will see a hatchback version initially an Estate variant may follow later. 207 will be powered by a 1.4ltr and 1.6ltr petrol and diesel engine. In international  market a more powerful (2.0ltr) diesel variant also available. The engine will be mated to either a 5 speed or a 6 speed manual box. If priced it right, Peugeot 207 hatchback will emerge as a good option for Indian hatchback buyers.

The other model which was filmed is Peugeot 508 sedan, a known face to our regular readers. Peugeot 508 sedan was unveiled in 2010 Paris Motor Show. Peugeot’s D- segment offering, 508 is bonnet will have a wide choice of petrol and diesel engines. There will be both manual and auto gearboxes on offer. The bad news is Peugeot 508 will be arriving India via CBU route so expect a hefty price tag.

As we said in our earlier post 3008 MPV also  may land in India. We will update you more on this product at a later stage. So stay tuned.
