Peugeot, the French auto major is in the process of finalizing their strategy to enter Indian market. Peugeot is in talks with two Indian states, Andra Pradesh and Tamilnadu to identify their prospective Indian plant location. Peugeot 508 saloon and Peugeot 3009 MPV are expected to be in India in coming months via CBU route from China.
Meanwhile Peugeot has unveiled the new 508 saloon in China ahead of Shanghai Auto Show. Peugeot cars are known for their styling and nice mixture of curve and lines. The new Peugeot 508 is not different, the unique grille design with a pair of aggressive headlights will give distinct front fascia. Under the bonnet hood, Peugeot will offer wide choice of diesel and petrol engines, it will vary from 1.6ltr to 2.0ltr with power outputs in the range of 110PS to 200PS. Chinese market may get a more powerful 3.0l V6 engine as well.
Peugeot 508 is expected to carry a price tag of Rs.20 lakh and may emerge as a possible option for those who are looking for Skoda Superb, Honda Accord and Maruti Suzuki Kizashi.
