Peugeot pulling up plans for Sanand plant.

Peugeot-207
Sanand will be host to yet another car manufacturer in the future. Peugeot is drawing plans for a 600 acre plant in Gujarat. Having received a green signal from the HQ in France, the stone laying ceremony will be held as soon as 3rd November and personnel are already under training in France for the project.

The company aims to roll out its first car by 2014 which will be the 508 family sedan. Eventual plans include products in all the segments. Talks of Peugeot acquiring diesel engines from Ford are also on. However, Peugeot needs to come up with a formula to build a  strong network in synch with its roll out.
