Picture of the day – First picture of Roller coaster cars from Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi

Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi has released the first pictures of its Roller Coaster that is said to open up in Abu Dhabi. The picture shows four seats in 2+2 configuration blended seamlessly into the body of a Ferrari F430 Spyder. This is certainly a boy racer’s dream come true. The coaster is said to provide the experience of driving a F1 car. The GT ride is one of twenty attractions at the theme park, and one of two rides unique to the location.

Ferrari World is still under construction on the Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.  The first theme park named for the automaker is being built on over 135 acres of land in the emirate.  It is scheduled to open in the latter half of 2010.

Mention the name Ferrari and what comes to your mind? 99.99% of the time, you would get memories of Ferrari’s awesome Supercars or the soul-stirring V8/V10/V12 soundtrack or the highly successful F1 team but a theme park? Did you ever think Ferrari would feature a full theme park? That too in the Middle East and not Italy? Yup, these facts are all right and for those of you who are not aware, Ferrari’s upcoming theme park is on Yas Island, between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Lets investigate the progress of this marvel which is expected to be open sometime in 2010. Ferrari have chosen the right destination too – Middle East is bang in the middle of Europe, Asia and Africa.

Possibly the World’s first theme park designed around an Automobile manufacturer, it will feature a racetrack, theater complex, miscellaneous driving activities, and three thrill rides. The thrill rides include a drop tower, a dual launched roller coaster known as Emotion Coaster, and another launched coaster that, it is rumored, will be the fastest roller coaster in the world once it opens currently known as F1 coaster. This coaster is expected to provide the same thrills and acceleration that driving a F1 car does. The place will also house shops, hotels and possibly an arena to display Ferrari’s cars.
