Pirelli is all set to replace Bridgestone as Formula1’s sole tyre supplier from 2011 according to reports. Pirelli was locked in a battle with former tyre suppliers Michelin for the deal. The (FOTA) Formula One Teams Association meanwhile are believed to have voted in favour of Pirelli. The FIA and Formula One Management will work with Pirelli on Commercial terms and the deal will be announced this week at the Turkish GP. This would mean that teams will carry on using 13 inch rims rather than 18inch ones that Michelin was proposing. Pirelli will supply till 2013 after which the contract would be extended.
