Renault-Dacia Duster SUV finally made it’s appearance to general public.We had shown some spy images of Dacia Duster previously in Wheelosphere.Dacia,the Romanian car maker is known for making economical cars.With help of their French owner Renault,they build a very economical SUV which will go on sale by 2010 Spring.
Duster SUV is Dacia-Renault’s maiden attempt to enter 4×4 SUV territory.Duster will be available in both 4×2 and 4×4 drive options.The 1.6ltr 16V petrol engine planted by Renault-Dacia will deliver 105hp at peak.There are two diesel engine options as well, the diesel engine options are 85 and 105dCi.
Dacia-Renault Duster looks like a full size SUV, dimensions measuring 4.31 meter length and 1.82 meter width.Other essential elements like ABS,EBD and Brake Assist are also available in the economical SUV.
So what’s in pipeline for Indian customers from Renault?Do you expect Duster in India? Most unlikely for another two years at least.The basic reason is, Renault-Dacia has developed only left-hand- drive Duster currently.Our sources close to Renault says, they will bring Sandero Hatchback and Sandero step way in India by end of next year.Renault is planning to develop their own dealer network in India in coming years.The chances of using their Japanese ally Nissan’s dealerships are also equally bright.
