These are the pictures of BMW X5’s facelift that will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The official photos have somehow surfaced online and Wheelosphere is the first Indian blog to bring you the photos. Moreover, the photos have been confirmed by a BMW insider as reported by BMW Blog.
BMW’s X5 was caught testing several times and it is now confirmed that the model was the facelift. The X5 previewed here is the X5 LCI, the refreshed Sports Activity Vehicle that will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. The pictures show modified front bumpers with new smaller running lamps on either side of the license plate. The headlights resemble the X6 while tail lamps are LED’s. The rear end gets a new bumper and recesses for twin exhausts on either side of the rear splitter.

BMW’s X5 will see important changes under the hood where its engines will be lifted straight out of the X6 range. The new X5 xdrive35i is now powered by a 3.0L straight 6 Twin Turbo putting out approx 300bhp. The same engine does duty in the 135i and 335i. The higher-end model, xDrive50i gets the same engine as the X6 50i, a 4.4 liter V8 engine producing 407 horsepower. BMW will also add xDrive40d to its European lineup powered by a 3.0L diesel with 300bhp.
With the images already leaked, expect the official announcement sometime soon. The above models are expected to hit Indian shores a few months after their international launch at the Geneva Motor Show.
