Chevrolet had unveiled the Aveo RS concept at the Detroit Motor Show 2010 (It ran parallel to the Auto Expo 2010). Also, we have had several spy pictures of the Aveo RS hatchback testing in Michigan. With the Aveo hatchback decided, it was about time some pictures of the sedan version showed up and that is just what we have got ourselves. The guys at Kickingtyres have rendered the sedan version of the Aveo RS after attending a presentation hosted by GM President Bob Lutz.
While the styling stays with the RS’s template, the styling goes more aggressive than the present Aveo sold in the Indian market. Although the present Aveo is a good looking car, its performance and dynamic abilities leave a lot to be desired while with the UV-A, everything needs to be changed including its dull nose and unenthusiastic engine. So taking on the nose of the hatch instantly propels it to a much higher level. Add to the package thoroughly revised interiors inspired by the Beat and Cruze, you end up with a great looking car.
All Chevrolet needs to do now is make sure that the driving dynamics, engine performance and gearbox are proper. With GM’s new found enthusiasm in the Indian market due to the arrival of the Beat and Cruze, models like the new Aveo will propel the brand going forward. Watch this space until the real vehicle is revealed.
