As expected Skoda Auto unveiled their new corporate identity in Geneva Motor Show. We had published a series posts about this upcoming logo change. As we said in our last post, Skoda’s new logo is dominated by a winged arrow. The winged arrow is painted in green and encircled by a chrome ring. Another major change in the new logo is absence of the “Skoda Auto” label. The new logo looks more trendy and modern and will decorate all Skoda cars from next year. The new Skoda logo will be integral part of Skoda dealerships and all other promotional materials. The new Skoda logo will have a new slogan as well, “The New Power of Škoda.” Along with new logo, Skoda unveiled a concept sedan called Skoda VisionD.
Skoda VisionD portrays company’s new design language. The VisionD though a completely new design can be easily identified as a Skoda product. The notable inclusions in Skoda VisionD are the extended wheel base and coupe like trunk. The elongated wheel base will offer extra cabin space and passenger comfort, while the newly designed trunk will offer extra luggage storage space.
“We are keen to express the new power of our brand not only through our future products, but also in the way we present ourselves to partners and customers. Our new design and fresh outlook reflect our plans for the future,” said Jürgen Stackmann, Skoda’s top official.
Skoda VisionD is an indication of future C-Segment products from Czechoslovakians. The C-shaped tail lamps and extra lines and corners combination looks promising. The front grille is similar to current Skoda cars but with new logo, VisionD front fascia has a more aggressive approach. The size of VisionD is similar to current Skoda Octavia. But the statement from Skoda is still awaited so stay tuned.
