Skoda Bags Two Top Gear Awards

Skoda Auto, the Czech associate of VW Group bagged two Top Gear awards this year.Both winning cars are important products for Skoda Auto India.The Skoda Superb, which is hot selling luxury sedan and Skoda Yeti, the SUV offering  from  Skoda, which is scheduled for next month launch.Yeti awarded Family Car of the Year while Superb grabbed Luxury Car of the Year title.

“We love the styling, the handling, the quality, the space, the clever touches and yes, the name. If you’re looking for a family car it should be top of your list to check out, simple as that. The Yeti feels like part of the Top Gear family.” said Conor McNicholas, the Top Gear magazine’s editor.“The Yeti has been an instant hit with the Top Gear magazine office,” he said. “It’s in the ride, the refinement, the quality of the interior, the understated drama of the exterior – the Superb is all that, and in estate form it makes even more sense.” he added.

Indian perspective,in recent  past Skoda India was facing steep decline in sales figures.But with the launch the Superb, they  managed to lift the graph.Now they are planning to launch Skoda Yeti in India in New Delhi Auto Expo 2010.Yeti is a nice combination of all convenience of a family car and capabilities of an off-roader.But the pricing could be a  difficult task for Skoda India,we anticipate Yeti will fall in Rs.12-14lacs bracket.
