
Like most European automakers, Skoda also does super efficient versions of its models, dubbed Greenline. It is similar in concept to Volkswagen’s Blue Motion and BMW’s Efficient dynamics where small improvements are made to several aspects of a car to improve efficiency and reduce CO2. Skoda released its first set of Greenline models few years ago and the same concept will be applied to its present models. The Greenline II models will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show. Skoda will unveil Greenline versions of the Octavia (Laura to us), Yeti, Roomster, Fabia and Superb.

All the cars mentioned above will feature Skoda’s 1.6L direct injection diesel engine while only the Fabia and Roomster will feature 1.2L diesel engines. Both these engines power the Polo and Vento in India. Greenline models feature Stop-Start, minor changes to the body to make the cars more aerodynamic and some engine tweaks as well. Skoda Laura Greenline promises 26.3km/l and just 99g/km CO2 while the Superb Greenline manages 114g/km CO2. The best Greenline model is the Fabia which embarrasses several established hybrid cars with figures like 30km/l and emission figures of just 89g/km.
