Skoda’s all new C-segment sedan is creating buzz in the market. Skoda’s new sedan aimed to slot between Fabia hatchback and Laura was earlier known as Rapid and later renamed to Lauretta. But according to latest reports Skoda India is planning to rename this entry level sedan once again. The new name of this entry level Fabia based sedan is not yet finalized. But the launch date of this MissionL based sedan is confirmed for 7th of October. Even Rapid could be Skoda India’s final choice.
Earlier this week Skoda Auto previewed the production ready version, MissionL in Frankfurt. As we said in our earlier post, India will be the first market to receive MissionL based sedan. But Indian version of MissionL will be a no frill sedan aimed to compete with Suzuki SX4, Ford Fiesta, Honda City and it’s sibling VW Vento.
As of now, following details are available, Skoda’s new C-Segment sedan will have a Fabia inspired nose and VW Vento inspired rear. Skoda will source 1.6ltr diesel and petrol power plants from VW. Skoda is expected to price this sedan in the range of Rs.7-9lakhs. Here comes an image of undisguised test mule of this sedan caught from Mumbai.
