Skoda Yeti is expected to hit Indian shore by end this year. Please read our previous story on Skoda Yeti India launch here. Skoda Yeti, count  it as an Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) or crossover, it strengthened Skoda’s position in European SUV market. Skoda is now planning to bring a new version of Skoda Yeti by 2012. The above rendering describes how  2012 Skoda Yeti may look like.

Skoda Yeti in our view is a perfect combination of an SUV and  Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV). Yeti got perfect blend  of  off-road and on-road capabilities. The rendering is  based on current Yeti, but looks more refined now. The Skoda’s new design headlamps have been  nicely mounted  in New Yeti. The signature Skoda grille is now visible in Yeti too. If you remember in old versions the fog lamps were fitted near headlamps and look like they are a single unit. But in new version the designer proposes a much lower position for fog lamps. They are now fixed exactly at the joining line of bumper and bonnet. The lines connecting windshield and front grille is not sharp now. Other than these major changes, 2012 Skoda Yeti may sport a revamped front bumper too. Overall new Yeti is more soothing and refined and will appears to be more mature.

Skoda  Yeti may get a host of engine variants. It will get a 1.4ltr TSI or  2.0ltr TSI engine in basic models. While the first engine produces a maximum torque of 150bhp the second engine can easily develop a whopping 211bhp. The engine  options may not end there, an all new Turbo TDI engine also may power up this off-road specialist. Which ever may be the engine the drive line too will be chosen keeping the functional requirement in mind. The all wheel driven Yeti engine will be coupled to a sequential  DSG  gear box with dual clutch combination.   

In India Yeti will be sporting a price tag above Rs.15lacs, this unusual price could be due to Skoda India’s decision to bring Yeti here through Completely Knocked Down(CKD) route.
