What you see here is one of the top 3 entries for the recently conducted Green Life competition. Of the 3,700 designers who participated and submitted their entries, this is one of the top three finalists for the Netizens’ choice award. It is a retractable car cover that is fully made of solar cells!
Called the ‘Shelf’, it is a foldable cover that is a sunshine blocker, solar energy collector and a car protector all at the same time! We still have our doubts though as to what would happen if the wind is quite heavy or covering your car in such an expensive car cover is feasible or not, but then when improved upon, this could be the surprise of the future. Congratulations to Leon Zhu from China, for this amazing creation on behalf of Wheelosphere!
