The Korando is a natural competitor to the Hyundai iX35, Volkswagen Tiguan and Ford Kuga. To take on its fellow Korean, the Korando makes do with a newly developed 2.0L petrol engine that makes 175bhp. A diesel  engine will join the range at a later date. Ssangyong have a strong background when it comes to mechanical design thanks to Mercedes Benz who have supplied them with engines and gearboxes in the past. The Korando is Ssanyong’s first truly love it design and it is targeted at the international audience. Do not be surprised if the Korando makes its way to India too in the next couple of years.

You can choose the Korando with either a five speed manual or automatic transmission transferring power through either two wheels or four. It will come with lots of kit from ABS, ESP, six airbags, air conditioning, power steering, power windows, locks, mirrors and lots more. Ssangyong have priced the Korando starting at Rs 14.3 lakhs up to Rs 17 lakhs for the top of the range model in Europe. The Korando will eventually make it to India in maybe two years time. Stay tuned to Wheelosphere till then.
