This is big news indeed, Chevrolet is testing a hundred percent electric variant of their mid-size sedan Cruze. The available images confirm that Chevrolet has made significant progress in the development of Cruze Electric variant. The missing tail pipe is one of the best available proof of this electric Cruze. Though the car in the available images sports logo of Chevrolet’s Korean associate Deawoo, it is more or less similar to Chevrolet Cruze which is currently on sale in India too.

Sources say, Chevrolet will start production of Electric Cruze in Australia under Holden banner in another two years time. Once Chevrolet Cruze Electric variant commercial production is established, this model can be easily made available in other parts of world too. Chevrolet is expected to use Voltec technology for energizing e-Cruze, this technology is successfully employed by many other hybrid and electric cars.

So now wait and see will Indian subcontinent also will be able to cruise on Chevrolet e-Cruze!!

The new Chevrolet Cruze is going to be a big hit in the US as it was in Europe. This is the perfect car for the current economy. Affordable, fuel efficient and sporty. (http://www.2011ChevroletCruze.com for reference). I think GM really hit the nail on the head with this car.
