Suzuki launches GSX-R1000 and Bandit 1250S in India

Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched its premium bikes, The GSX-R1000 and Bandit 1250S are currently on sale and are priced at Rs 12.75 lakhs and Rs 8.5 lakhs (Ex-Delhi) respectively making them the most expensive two wheelers out of Suzuki’s stables in India. Suzuki already offers its Hayabusa and Intruder at Rs 12.5 lakh each. Suzuki already exists at the lower end of the segment with its offerings like the GSX-150R and Zeus. It is targeting to sell at least 100 units of the newly launched bikes in the first year. Suzuki has sold 209 units of Hayabusa and Intruder since their launch in November 2008 (sales figures till March 2010)

“This launch is in line with our aim to deliver outstanding technology and performance to the Indian market. We are pleased to offer exciting riding experience to pro-bikers,” Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) Chairman Katsumi Takata said in a statement.

“We are targeting to sell together over 200 units in the first year. In the case of Hayabusa and Intruder also, we had sold about 200 units in the first year,” SMIPL Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Atul Gupta said. With the launch of these two 1000 cc and 1255 cc bikes, the company expects to continue the momentum that had begun with the launch of Hayabusa and Intruder, he added.
